Amateur Radio on board the International Space Station (ARISS) is an international working group of amateur radio societies of the countries participating to the ISS, devoted to implementing the amateur radio station on board the ISS and in charge of planning school contacts with astronauts.

ARISS STATION SHUT DOWN DURING EVA

For safety reasons, the amateur radio equipment aboard the International Space Station will be shut down during Thursday's spacewalk (EVA).  The spacewalk is scheduled to begin at 2100 UTC? Thursday March 26, 2004

The equipment will be shut off prior to the EVA and turned on sometime after the EVA is completed.  Please be aware that this is the first time the entire space station crew will be working outside the station. 

The crew will be undoubtedly be very tired once they finish up and return inside.
